A494 Safety

We call on the Welsh Government to keep to its word and look at safety improvements for the A494.

In 2021 the Welsh Government said that they would look ti improve the safety of the A494, between Dolgellau an Dwyryd (Druids) in 2023. They have now gone back on their word and said that nothing will be done until 2025. The road is dangerous and we are seeing far too many fatalities and serious accidents on the road. This is a public health concern and also causes great anxieties for those communities along the road.

We insist that the Government honours its promise and carries out the necessary assessments in order to improve the safety of the A494.

It’s genuinely becoming a problem to pull out the yard just to pop for petrol on a Sunday. Motorcycles pass our house in excess of 100mph. Some cars too , but the majority are motorcycles taking risks and not just ruining there own lives but the other road users who have to witness these sad and often fatal accidents.

Near missed almost daily due to appalling driving standards, blatant drink / drug driving, and ineffective enforcement
