Safeguard The Cambrian Coast Line

Sign the Petition!

We call on Transport for Wales (TFW) and Welsh Government to safeguard services on the Cambrian Coast Line, which serves as a vital transport link for both local residents and the Gwynedd visitor economy.

Communities served by the Cambrian Coast line depend on the service for education, employment, tourism, shopping, and health reasons. The service is particularly invaluable to the elderly and to those without a car.

Instead of cutting further services, Transport for Wales and Welsh government should be actively investing in local transport links across north west Wales, ensuring local people and visitors are afforded robust, reliable, and accessible train services.

Keep the buses. It’s how my friends and I get to and from Barmouth in the evening.

Cuts to these services now mean that my daughter, who does not drive, is now unable to visit us over the winter period as she is unable to finish work early enough to catch the last train from Birmingham International that connects to the Cambrian line.

A vital link, that should be kept open. With the amount of money spent on Barmouth bridge and other infrastructure, no way will this line close.

How is anyone supposed to work or meet friends without a costly and disruptive overnight stay without an early and late service? I cannot only think you are trying to run the railway into the ground deliberately!

The Cambrian Coast line is a vital asset for West Wales.

Public transport is not the best in the area and many people need the train to get to medical appointments as well as for education.

What about climate change and reducing vehicle pollution?
