WASPI WOMEN
Plaid Cymru has said that ensuring compensation for women hit by changes in the state pension age is a priority, after both Labour and the Conservatives were accused of abandoning them. Liz has been an active supporter of the campaign for justice.
The campaign group Women Against State Pension Injustice (WASPI) has been pressing for compensation for women, born in the 1950s, who have been short-changed by thousands of pounds by changes to their pension entitlements.
Wales Air Ambulance
The decision to rubber-stamp the closure of the Caernarfon and Welshpool Air Ambulance bases in favour of centralising the service in northeast Wales goes against the interests of communities across northwest and mid Wales.
We have far from been assured that the areas most at risk from these plans such as Pen Llŷn and south Meirionnydd won’t be left with a substandard service. This is not the end of the fight. We will work with campaigners to challenge the decision.
Health Services
From a lack of GPs, the scant availability of dentists, to under-resourced and under-used community hospitals - people living in parts of Dwyfor Meirionnydd are at the thin end of the wedge when it comes to accessing primary care services close to home.
Mabon ap Gwynfor MS is working hard to ensure people living in Dwyfor Meirionnydd are treated fairly when it comes to accessing health services, raising matters directly with the health board and on the floor of the Senedd with the First Minister.
Improving Connectivity
Superfast broadband (at least 25 mbps) is one of the essentials of modern life - for work, study, receiving online services and leisure. Unfortunately Dwyfor Meirionnydd is among the areas worst served by broadband provision throughout the UK.
Accessing a reliable mobile phone signal has also been a challenge for many communities in Dwyfor Meirionnydd. Liz Saville Roberts MP has made it a priority to lobby network providers to improve mobile connectivity across Dwyfor Meirionnydd.
